The Currach Irish Pub

The Island's iconic Irish Pub is a"must visit" during your stay on the Island.

The Currach is an authentic traditional Irish Pub with lots of character and full of ambience. We specialize in fresh seafood and the evening specials menu changes daily according to what is freshly available. We have a wonderful organic herb garden at the Currach and only use organic produce wherever possible. The bar has a comprehensive wine list and six draft beers on tap including Guinness (of course), local and boutique craft beers. We love music and musicians are always welcomed and encouraged to play at the Currach. The Gallery restaurant has regular art exhibitions of local artists.

The Currach is built in one of the original homesteads in Tryphena, built by the Blackwell family circa 1910. We think its fitting that the homestead’s original owners emigrated from Tipperary to Great Barrier. (its a long way to Tipperary, its a long way to go).
