Sea Shanti

Nestled among other traditional kiwi baches our "shanty" (a humble abode made of plywood and corrugated iron) aims to bring you much "shanti" (sanskrit word meaning to have an ambition to bring peace, rest, tranquility and bliss) by the sea. Located at Kaitoke Beach, The Sea Shanti is only a 30m walk from the ocean. Walk barefoot with your surfboard to the dunes at the end of our quiet cul-de-sac on Oceanview Road. As well as the long rugged surf beach and safe swimming pools in the rocks, Kaitoke is centred at the heart of Great Barrier Island (16km to Tryphena, 23 km to Port Fitzroy). With all the facilities at Claris nearby (dairy, post centre, bottle store, burger bar, laundromat, art gallery, dive store etc), guests agree, it is the "perfect pad", well set up with all you need and a great base from which to explore the beautiful Great Barrier Island.
