Lovebirds is a new three-day Great Barrier Island (GBI) getaway to view native land and sea birds in their natural environment.
The weekend gets under way on Friday evening with dinner and a talk by John Ogden, chair of the GBI Enviromental Trust.
Saturday will feature a trip to Glenfern Sanctuary, a pest controlled habitat for many endangered native species. The day’s activities will be followed by dinner and a talk by senior ecologist Elizabeth (Biz) Bell from Wildlife Management International.
On Sunday you will have the option of a guided walk to either Hirakimata (Mt Hobson)with Biz Bell or, Whangapoua Beach to view waders and sea birds with John Ogden.
